The aims of the Association are to improve the oral and facial rehabilitation of patients suffering from oro-facial deformities and defects through a multi-disciplinary team approach and to update the team members with continuing medical education based on latest medical evidence.

    2015 International conference on Oral and Facial Rehabilitation was held on 20-22 March 2015 at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine ina Hong Kong. It was organized by Academy of Oral and Facial Rehabilitation Hong Kong local organizing committee and co-organized by Hong Kong Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Hong Kong Prosthetic Dentistry Society.

    It is the first time the International Academy for Oral and Facial Rehabilitation hosts its conference in Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong. The theme of the conference of this year is “Prevention and management of dental implant complications”. The 3 days conference include a first pre-congress day filled with 5 concurrent hands-on and interactive workshops in the morning and a symposium covering “Advances and pitfalls of pre-implant surgery” in the afternoon. It is followed by two days of exciting scientific conference focusing on prevention and management of dental implant complications. 146 participants from different parts of the world have attended the conference and 36 international and local experts, composing of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontist and dental implantologists, etc., have presented in the conference. The invited speakers have also discussed various controversial topics related to this theme and established certain consensus statements at the end of the conference which will be published later by an international journal.

    Another highlight of the conference would be the trade exhibition, running concurrently with the scientific programs. The two-day trade exhibition features 13 dental manufactures and distributors, which provides an essential platform to show their latest products and services to both the local and oversea participants.

  • Implant Guided Surgery Course
    Organized by MegaGen Hong Kong Ltd.

    The lecture will introduce the latest technology of computer implant planning using cone beam computed technology (CBCT) scan, computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) of computer guided surgical splint and fabrication of zirconium abutment and temporary crowns. With the pre-fabrication of a highly accurate computer guided splint and the customized abutment with temporary crown, the implant surgical and temporary prosthesis can be fitted to the patient in the same day.
